- 03Beginning sometime in the near future, citizens of the United States, Canada, and Australia will need to obtain online travel authorization before visiting most European countries. This new requirement—known as ETIAS (the European Travel Information and Authorization System)—is not a visa, but a brief online security check that asks for basic personal and trip details. The application process will take just a few minutes and must be completed online using a valid email address. Approval is typically sent by email within an hour, though in some cases it may take up to four days. Once approved, your ETIAS authorization will remain valid for multiple trips over a period of three years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. The standard 90-day stay within any 180-day period for U.S. travelers in Europe will not change. The application fee will be €7 (about USD 8) per person, and all travelers—regardless of age—will need to apply. The official start date has not yet been announced, as the program has been postponed several times, but it is currently expected to launch sometime in 2026.
- 04We encourage every pilgrim to purchase travel insurance for peace of mind while traveling. Even well-planned pilgrimages can face unexpected challenges—flight delays, illness, or last-minute changes—and insurance can help safeguard both your trip and your investment. It’s best to purchase your policy shortly after booking your pilgrimage so that you’re covered right from the start.
- 05We want every pilgrim to feel cared for throughout the journey. When you fill out your online Guest Details Form, please note any food allergies or dietary restrictions. We’ll pass this information along to the airlines and your tour guide, who will make sure the hotels, restaurants, and others involved in the pilgrimage are aware and do their best to meet your needs.

- 09IMPORTANT: All travelers must hold a passport that remains valid for a minimum of six months after the date of return. Passports expiring sooner must be renewed prior to departure to avoid any travel disruptions. Your passport must contain enough blank pages to accommodate entry and exit stamps for all the countries on your itinerary. Click for the U.S. Department of State’s Passport FAQ page. - 14Yes. Tour prices are based on double occupancy—two people sharing a room. Hotels charge an additional single supplement for private rooms, and the amount varies by property. If you are traveling alone and would like to be paired with a roommate, we will do our best to match you with another pilgrim who has made the same request. If no suitable roommate is available, you will be responsible for the single-room supplement.
