Itinerary
Dulles International Airport
Day 1
Pilgrims will begin this spiritual journey with a Pilgrims’ Mass at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Annandale, Virginia. Following Mass, pilgrims will board a charter motorcoach for transportation to Washington Dulles International Airport. From Dulles, we will depart on an overnight nonstop flight to Lisbon, Portugal, with meals served onboard as we begin our pilgrimage to the holy sites of Portugal, Spain, and France.
Day 2
Upon arrival in Lisbon, Portugal, pilgrims will begin exploring the rich Catholic heritage of this historic city with visits to Belém Tower, Jerónimos Monastery, Lisbon Cathedral, and the Church of St. Anthony, the birthplace of one of the Church’s most beloved saints. Following our time in Lisbon, we will transfer to Fatima, the site of Our Lady’s appearances to the three shepherd children in 1917. After arriving in Fatima, pilgrims will check into the hotel, enjoy dinner, and prepare for our time of prayer and reflection at this beloved Marian shrine.

Day 3
Today we will spend a full day in Fatima, one of the most beloved Marian shrines in the Catholic world. Here, pilgrims will have the opportunity for prayer and reflection at the site where Our Lady appeared to the three shepherd children—St. Francisco Marto, St. Jacinta Marto, and their cousin Lucia dos Santos—in 1917, delivering her message of prayer, penance, and conversion. Pilgrims will have time to visit the shrine, pray at the Chapel of the Apparitions, venerate the tombs of the shepherd children, and participate in the spiritual atmosphere of this holy place.
Day 4
After breakfast, we will depart Fatima and travel to Coimbra, where we will visit the Monastery of Santa Clara-a-Nova, the burial place of St. Elizabeth of Portugal, a beloved queen known for her deep faith, humility, and works of charity. If arrangements permit, pilgrims may also have the opportunity to visit the Carmel of Coimbra, connected to the life of the Carmelite sisters and the spiritual heritage of this historic city.
We will then continue our journey into Spain to Santiago de Compostela, one of the greatest pilgrimage destinations in the Catholic world. Upon arrival, we will visit the magnificent Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, where pilgrims have gathered for more than a thousand years to venerate the tomb of St. James the Greater, Apostle. After our visit, we will check into our hotel, enjoy dinner, and spend the night in this historic pilgrimage city.

Day 5
After breakfast, we will depart Santiago de Compostela and continue our pilgrimage through the ancient Catholic heartland of northern Spain, traveling to Astorga, one of Spain’s oldest dioceses. Here we will visit the Episcopal Palace of Astorga, designed by the renowned Catholic architect Antoni Gaudí, as well as the nearby Cathedral of Santa María of Astorga, the mother church of the Diocese of Astorga. Together, these sacred sites reflect the deep Catholic heritage of this historic city along the Camino de Santiago.
We will then continue to León, where we will visit the Basilica of San Isidoro, one of Spain’s most important Romanesque churches and the resting place of St. Isidore of Seville, Doctor of the Church. After our visit and celebration of Mass, we will continue to Burgos for our hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 6
After breakfast, we will begin the day with a visit to the magnificent Cathedral of Burgos, one of Spain’s greatest Gothic masterpieces and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will then continue our pilgrimage northward to the Basque region, visiting the Shrine of Our Lady of Aránzazu, a beloved Marian sanctuary nestled in the mountains and a place of deep devotion for generations of pilgrims.
Our journey continues to Azpeitia, the birthplace of St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). At the Sanctuary of Loyola, pilgrims will have the opportunity to reflect on the life and conversion of this great saint, whose encounter with Christ transformed him from a soldier into one of the Church’s greatest missionaries.
Following our visits, we will continue to Lourdes, France, the beloved Marian shrine where Our Lady appeared to St. Bernadette Soubirous in 1858. After arriving in Lourdes, pilgrims will check into the hotel, enjoy dinner, and prepare for our time of prayer at the Grotto of Massabielle.

Day 7
Today we will immerse ourselves in the spiritual beauty of Lourdes, one of the most beloved Marian shrines in the world. We will begin the day with Mass at or near the Grotto of Massabielle, the sacred site where the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to St. Bernadette Soubirous in 1858.
Following Mass, pilgrims will enjoy a guided orientation of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes, including the Grotto of Massabielle, the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, the Rosary Basilica, and the Baths. During free time in the afternoon, pilgrims will have opportunities for personal prayer and devotion, including returning to the Grotto, participating in the Water Gesture or baths, praying the Rosary, receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation, or spending quiet time in the basilicas.
In the late afternoon, we will gather for the Blessed Sacrament Procession and Benediction of the Sick, followed by dinner and the moving Marian Torchlight Procession at the Grotto, a beautiful conclusion to our day of prayer with Our Lady.
Day 8
After breakfast, we will celebrate Mass before taking a guided walking tour through the life of St. Bernadette Soubirous, the humble visionary of Lourdes. Pilgrims will visit important places connected to her life and the apparitions, including the Boly Mill, where she was born, the Cachot, where her family lived during difficult years, the parish church, and other locations that reveal the story of the young woman chosen by Our Lady to share the message of Lourdes with the world.
Pilgrims will then have additional time for personal prayer and devotion, with opportunities to return to the Grotto of Massabielle, pray the Stations of the Cross, spend time in Adoration, or revisit the Baths. In the late afternoon, we will gather once again for the Blessed Sacrament Procession and Benediction of the Sick. Afterward, we will enjoy our final pilgrims’ dinner together before joining the Marian Torchlight Rosary Procession, walking in prayer with thousands of pilgrims from around the world as we entrust our intentions to Our Lady. We will spend our final night in Lourdes.

Day 9
After an early breakfast, pilgrims will depart Lourdes and transfer by motorcoach to Toulouse-Blagnac Airport for our return flight home. As we bid farewell to France, we carry with us the many graces received throughout this pilgrimage—from the message of Our Lady at Fatima and Lourdes, to the witness of the saints, and the countless moments of prayer and fellowship shared along the way.
After our flight to the United States, a motorcoach will meet pilgrims upon arrival at Washington Dulles International Airport and return them to St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Annandale, Virginia.
